It is with deep sadness that we learnt about the recent tragic event in Nice. Following consultation within the organizing committee, we have decided however to maintain the ESTIV Congress 2016 as planned, to take place in Juan-les-Pins on 17-21 October for the following reasons:

- Juan-les-Pins is situated remotely from Nice (around 30 km away),
- It does not represent the typical type of target for attacks taken place so far,
- The risk of tragic events could happen at any place and any time. Therefore modifying the location and/or the date of the congress will not necessarily prevent a possible risk.

We hope therefore that we can count on your participation to attend the congress, and look forward to seeing you soon in Juan-les-Pins.
